Sunny crafty summer part 1 : Invitation
Hi there,
We're back home for a week now and I didn't even start to select the pictures of our big trip on the West Coast for my post.
So, on the other hand, we'll have a big celebration on the middle of August. Not less than 7 birthdays ! It was impossible to everyone to agree for the same themed party. Some wanted an Avenger party, some wanted mini-golf or Star Wars party... In short, we're going for a big pool party !
I'll do a couple of post about the preparation of our pool party ! A good way to introduce crafty activities in our summer vacation.
First, as everyone who is invited should have received his invitation, there is the flip flop invitations.
Equipment : envelopes, cisors, glue, pencil, eraser, foam sheets, neon paper (whatever the decorative paper you like), ribbon matched color.
First, you cut a pattern for your flip flop ( I took lilwenn's flip flop for the shape and I drew it smaller).
You draw the pattern on the foam sheet and on the neon paper (the same number of each but be careful, you have to put the pattern on the other side on the back of the neon paper !).
You have this : I chose two different colors for the foam sheets because both of them match with the color of the neon paper, but you don't have to.
Then, you cut tree little slits in the neon paper: 2 vertically on each side of the middle of the flip flop and one horizontally on the top.
You double up the ribbon and insert each end in one slip as the picture below :
You only have to glue the top of the flip flop on the foam sheet !
Here there are !
I wrote the adress on the back of the invitation...
... and the message on the front.
Cute, isn't it ?
I found the idea on Pinterest (as usual), but I totally adapted it for something DIYable for once ! Original idea there :

I did this step by myself, not with the kids, but it's only the first step !
See ya !
